Introduction
Each of us is faced with the challenge of authoring our own lives. How your life is going for you at this very moment may not be how you want it to go tomorrow, and as the author only you can write a new tomorrow. You might be affected by the actions of others, and you might be affected by other outside forces; but even so, it's you who will decide how to turn your life around.

Some changes are so easy they're hardly worth that label; but other changes are so difficult, they require psychiatric medications or hospitalization. I coach people with the changes between these two extremes.

From 24 years of experience here's my take on the art of change. Some changes require the fundamentals: clarity of the goal, an action plan to the goal, commitment to the plan and a support system or cheerleading section. Some changes require the fundamentals plus another component to handle the 'stoppers'. Stoppers are those intangible inner forces that keep you from doing the fundamentals. Stoppers are often feelings like anxiety, agitation or fear, anger or frustration or impatience, depression, sadness. Stoppers can be confusion or lack of clarity or direction, about goals, about who you are, about your future, about love and relationships. Ok so to handle the stoppers you'll need an extra component - problem solving with a coach, counselor, therapist, ie. somebody trained to help in that area.

As a site visitor, I extend to you my wish that you engage yourself in a new tomorrow. A tomorrow that offers you the means to be fully who you can be and want to be. A tomorrow in which you express the glorious uniqueness of you. Celebrate yourself by charting a true course. Good Luck and Good skill!

This site is devoted to personal change artists, especially my current and former clients. You are an amazing group of individuals! Despite huge challenges, you made and continue to make your life into what you want. I've been tremendously honored and inspired to be involved. Thank you.
The Adult Strategy Series of Workshops

The model of human personality I choose to use in all my coaching work is called Transactional Analysis or TA for short. One central feature of TA is what we call the Adult Ego State. It's primary characteristic is that it has a 'thinking' function or capability. When you use your Adult, you gather information, assess possible actions, determine consequences, calculate probabilities of various strategies, and make present tense current reality decisions. I've called this series of workshops the Adult series because they will focus on developing, building, strengthening and using participants Adult ego state, and applying it to the subject matter.

The Dynamics of Health and Change
When quantum physicists began speculating about the possibility that reality was influenced by their thoughts, beliefs and attitudes they probably didn’t extend that theory to their personal health challenges. After all, they were working with light, not bacteria and viruses.Yet here we are about thirty years later, on the verge of a momentous surge in our understanding of health based on the energy-matter dynamic. In this workshop we’ll explore and more importantly, practice changing our health. We’ll do that with intentionality, fun, focus, and creativity. Naturopathic Doctor Barbara McKinstry will co-lead this workshop with me.

Personal Empowerment Tips

Picture this section as a tool box. A bunch of handy dandy techniques or skills that you can pull out and apply when required. They're time tested and proven effective when used with practice. Like an adjustable wrench, you may have to tweak a tool to make it work for any specific situation; but with effort and thoughtfulness you can be a personal power master.
Planning to Succeed If you wanted to drive 2000 miles to a dream vacation destination, how would you start? Would you just get in your car and go, hoping it was the right direction? Or would you use a map and plan the trip? So why not plan your life? Or at least parts of it!
Telephone Power Because it's so handy many people give up personal power every time they use the phone.
Depression In this article I'll describe Clinical Depression, give my opinion on its cause from a TA perspective and suggest a few strategies to help you deal with it.
Feelings This article will take you a long way in understanding those around you, and most importantly- yourself.
A Life of Balance This article is an amalgamation of my observations of clients, and an excerpt from a nationally known personal coach on the subject of creating a life in balance.
Transaction Analysis Lessons

One of the most powerful models of personality is Transactional Analysis or TA for short. TA has a rich history of success in education, counselling, and psychotherapy. In other words - a proven model and methods for facilitating personal change. The following mini-lessons are short descriptive pages that give the basic TA ideas. Consider it an introductory series or a TA 100.

About the guy that did this site ... that is, of course ...  me.

(I'm the one with the blue hat.)
I thoroughly enjoy working as a presonal change coach, especially being part of my clients' personal growth journies. People are amazing! No matter what horrendous tragedies and experiences a person has had; no matter what the current situation; no matter how hopeless a person feels; it is possible to work through it. My wife has a slogan on her web site that I think is applicable to emotional health - Believe it, You can feel better.

I wish you good skill on your journey.

Take a step into being extraordinary, send me a comment. Did you find what you were looking for? What would you like to see to make the site more useful? Should I be advertising? Selling something?  How's the local weather? Do you need a personal change coach?

Psychotherapy or Therapy

For many people, the word therapy or psychotherapy has a negative connotation - and they avoid using the services of a therapist as if doing so would get them committed to a "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" facility. If you're shackled by this mistaken belief, fear not. Therapy is concerned with changing your life in a positive direction.

Remember those stoppers I talked about in the Intro? Many or most of those can be reduced or elliminated with guidance from a therapist. Hey, if you don't like the idea of therapy, call it whatever you want.

What psychotherapy is.

Who it's for.
