My Life Has Too Much Drama

Let's talk about Drama and what it looks like. Drama is emotional intensity with feelings of anger, sadness, fear and the variations thereof. Drama usually but not necessarily involves other people rather than just yourself. Drama is what the daily soaps present. Drama is what you fear about when going to the in-laws for a week.

If you frequently use the phrase "I can't.", or if you believe people "make you feel .." then you're creating drama. If you deny your responsibility for your life as in "then everything went to hell ..." you're creating drama. If you disconnect from yourself such as "the depression got hold of me", or "my anger got the best of me", or "a thought just came to me" (as if beamed in from outer space) then you're creating drama.

The other typical symptom of Drama is if you find yourself feeling like a victim, or a villain, or a rescuer. Suppose during a dispute with a spouse, friend, or family member you feel like one of these roles - you're creating drama.

Drama is usually a psychological game. Take a peek at Games in my TA Lessons.

Other nuances of Drama come from the driver behaviors: Try Hard, Please Me, Hurry Up, Be Strong, and Be Perfect; or from inappropriate or maladaptive stroking behaviors (see the Stroke Economy).
